Are We There Yet? Events and Coronavirus

I helped my friend plan her 50th birthday party two weeks ago and I’m still recovering from the planning and the event. The party made me realize a few things: 1) I love planning events and I’ve missed it. 2) In-person events with covid will always be risky.

The party was outside and intimate and every precaution was taken before guests arrived, however, people wouldn’t stay away from each other. I guess it shouldn’t have been that surprising. It’s part of what makes us human.

Fortunately, there wasn’t a covid outbreak at the party (that I know of), but it definitely opened up my eyes that there’s no way to have in-person events and think that people would stay 6 feet away.

For now, I’m staying inside and eating my veggies and vitamins. I’m still working on planning the next Holy Sip dinner in Jamaica, but really trying to foresee where the world will be in February. I missing being out there (the world) and planning and bringing people together, but I want it to be safe when we do so.
